Masonry Heaters: Theory and Practice Class 

A foundational course in masonry heater construction and design. This class is designed to help understand how a masonry heater functions, the various designs and construction techniques. It is not intended to give the attendee the impression that after taking this class the student will have enough knowledge to construct a heater. A person’s masonry skills, conceptual ability, regulatory knowledge and other factors are needed to obtain a level needed to safely and professional build a heater.

The course includes the following:

  • Overview of masonry heaters, characteristics and operation
  • Internal designs, types and methods
  • Tools and equipment needed to build a masonry heater
  • Safety procedures
  • Heater orientation, layout, base installation
  • Skills required or developed
  • Zoom and Classroom instruction
  • Three (3) days of building on-site in Richmond, IN

Class dates/times and locations:

  • Wednesday, October 18, 7-9pm EST - Video Instruction via zoom
  • Thursday, October 19, 7-9pm EST - Video Instruction via zoom
  • October 23-25, 2023 Hands-on (in-person at SaverSystems in Richmond, IN)

Time

The video portion of the class (zoom) is 7pm  - 9pm EST on Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19. The in-person class runs from 8am to 5pm each day during October 23-25, 2023.

The class fee of $750 covers all building materials and lunch each day. Attendees are required to secure their own travel, lodging, breakfast and dinner each day. 

Attendees are required to bring basic PPE including gloves, work boots.
