The first Annual Prairie Acres Conference will be held August 24-28, 2026 in Edmonton, Canada. The conference is co-sponsored by the Masonry Heater Association (MHA) and the International Masonry Institute (IMI).

This five-day/five-night event offers educational opportunities for masonry professionals looking to advance their own skills and knowledge. Registration includes:

Basics and Theory Class (additional class-specific cost to registrants)
Vaulted Oven Core Build
Boveda Brick Dome Build (Mexican-style brick dome built without centring)
Industry discussions
Morning coffee/tea
Lunch and snacks for the week
Pizza Party Friday evening usingthe vaulted oven core build
All build and workshop equipment, materials, and handbooks

The heater build registration (general registration) is $500 USD per person for current MHA members. The registration cost for Basics and Theory Training is $1000 USD, and includes all handbooks, materials, instructor time, and heater mason training. Non-members will sign up with the MHA before registering for the event. (MHA membership is $275 USD for 12 months.)

This first-time event has limited space, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Similar past trainings have sold out quickly. Registration will close on Friday, August 7th.
